PersonalStatement
Onceaphilosophersaidthatnumerouschoicesmadeupoflife.Asforme,therearetwosignificantchoicesthathavegreatinfluenceonmydevelopmentorientationandcareeroverthe21years.Fouryearsago,inspiteofteachers’strongoppositions,IresolutelygaveupmathematicsthatIwasadeptatandchosetostudyLawafterNationalCollegeEntranceExamination,forIunderstoodthatsuchachoicewouldenablemetoactualizemydreamandaccomplishmypursuitoflife.Lastmonth,Iunhesitatinglyquittedthequalificationoffurtheringstudiesatourswithouttakingexaminations,whichouruniversityofferedtothoseacademicexcellentstudents.Iabandonedthechancethatmostofstudentslongedfor.Instead,IchoosetostudyinUKandIwouldliketoapplyforLLMinCorporateLaw、GovernanceadministratedbyUniversityofWarwicksoastowinself-improvement.Itisprovedthatmyfirstchoiceisrightandthesecondchoiceisunderway.Iyearnforengagingmyselfinlaw,soIhopeIcanmakemyidealcometrueasexpected.
Tostudylawismychildhooddream,mywayofexploringthefairnessandharmoniousnessofthesocietyandthenecessarypathformetorealizemydreamofembarkingonlaw.MygrandfatherandgrandmotherarebothengagedinlawofthefirstbatchafterthefoundationofP.R.China.Andmyfatherisajudge.Growingupinsuchfamilyatmosphere,Ihavebeenedifiedbyvariousvalueviewsconcerninglawsincechildhood.SupposedIacceptedthesevalueviewspassivelyinchildhood,nowlawisnotonlymymajorbutalsomywayoflivinginthepreviousthreeyearsinthatmystudyoflogicthinkingoflawhasexertedangreatinfluenceonmyidea.Lawisthecrystalofhuman’swisdomandthefootstoneofharmonioussociety.Myidealofbecomingalawyerstrivesmetomoveforwardonthewayofstudyinglawperseveringly.
AfterherentrytoWTO,developingherselfrapidlyineconomicglobalization,Chinahasalotofdevelopmentopportunitiesandincreasingchancestoinvolveherselfintradeswithdevelopedforeigncountries.However,theredoexistinsufficienciesandthemostobviousoneisherimperfectioninlawsystem.MystudyattheuniversitymakesmeclearlyunderstandthatthereareplentyofproblemsinourlawandrealizethatChinaneedslearnfromanduserelevantsystemsofwesterncountriesforreference.HenceIwanttogettoknowlawideasofBritishandAmericanlawsystemssoastoacquirehealthylawsystemsregardingeconomyandtradeinwesterncountries.Asthecradleofcommonlawsystem,UKenjoysahighreputationinlawresearchandeducationallovertheworld.
ViatheInternet,IhavereferredtotherecruitinformationandspecilitysettingofLawSchoolofcelebratedhighereducationinstitutionsofUK,tomysurprise,IfindyourswilloffertheprogramofInternationalCorporateGovernanceandFinancialRegulationin2007.Inmyopinion,theprogramwillenablestudentstocontactsystemandrulesofcorporatelawonawholeinayearandapplylawtopracticeinfinancialaspectandsoon.Nodoubt,itoffersmeagoldopportunitytotouchrelevantcontentsaboutcorporatelawtoamaximumextentintheone-yearstudy.
